A visual journalist and filmmaker with a background in Information Technology, I have been documenting human stories through photography and film since 2019. Over time, I shifted toward visual and written journalism, producing photojournalism, TV segments, and written reports covering the war in Sudan. My work centers on human rights, with a focus on documenting the impact of conflict, displacement, and civilian suffering.
My reporting has been featured by international outlets including The Guardian, BBC, and The Wall Street Journal. For my work with WSJ, I received the Zenger Journalism Prize (2025).

A little about me
01.
I’m Mohamed
I was born and raised in North Darfur, El-Fasher — a city that has carried both my childhood memories and the scars of war.
02.
Relationship with Documntation
My life has been shaped by the stories of my people, and by the responsibility to document them before they are erased.
03.
Photography
The camera, for me, is not a weapon or a shield — it is a bridge. A way to stand beside them, not above them. A way to say: you are seen, you will not be forgotten.
04.
Interesting Fact
Not only do I document the world through photography, I also practice investigative journalism, using open-source research and field reporting to uncover human rights abuses and stories that might otherwise go untold.
